High Leigh
This new primary school is designed to serve the High Leigh Garden Village development in Hertfordshire and to replace the existing one-form entry Westfield Primary School. ArchitecturePLB was originally commissioned through the Hertfordshire Schools Building Partnership, with whom we have worked since 2010, and were subsequently appointed to deliver the building through the Department for Education’s Construction Framework ’21.

The new two-form entry school provides capacity for 420 pupils, including an integrated 30-place nursery, supporting the expanding community in Hoddesdon. As well as the school building and nursery, the project provides associated hard and soft landscaping, parking, drop-off and sports pitches, creating a holistic and accessible learning environment.
The state-of-the-art building has been carefully designed to meet the educational needs of the community while responding sensitively to its setting within the new garden village. It plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education and safeguarding the future growth of this thriving neighbourhood.
High Leigh Primary School exemplifies ArchitecturePLB’s commitment to delivering sustainable and future-proof educational facilities through our longstanding partnership with Hertfordshire County Council. The scheme’s completion marks another important milestone in providing modern, inspiring spaces where children can learn and thrive.
