Handlebar Café wins at the City of Winchester Trust Design Awards!

ArchitecturePLB are delighted to announce that the Handlebar Café has won the City of Winchester Trust Design Award. 

The design, inspired by passing train carriages, was a collaboration with local teenagers through the spudYOUTH programme. Located at the foot of St Catherine's Hill, this innovative cycle café and bike workshop has become a beloved destination for both cyclists and walkers, features two main elements linked by a glass divide, with a third building housing a cycle workshop.

This award recognizes the project's community-driven design, sustainable materials, and historical inspiration. We are proud to have been part of this initiative, which has not only created a unique space but also empowered young people to engage with architecture and design.
