Sunfield Close in Andover was a competition-winning scheme for 17 affordable rent and shared ownership homes, designed to meet CfSH Level 4. ArchitecturePLB's award-winning design addressed the sensitivities of building on this constrained, formerly communal site, with an arrangement that maintains views across the site whilst creating privacy and minimising overlooking. Contemporary in design, the green roofs and timber clad pods are reminiscent of the former allotments and sheds that previously occupied the site.

Successful housing design is about creating places and communities as well as the individual dwelling. Our designs therefore extend beyond the front door to include the wider public realm, creating inclusive, safe and enjoyable neighbourhoods with a strong sense of place.
Our housing work includes both public and privately funded projects, student housing, care and assisted living. We understand the different funding criteria and are adept in establishing the viability of a site and maximising its potential. In all cases sustainability underpins our approach and design solutions, whether the project is for a one-off 'Passivhaus' or a new community.
